Egging on Spring
I’m not a religious person, nor can I help but giggle at the thought of people worshiping a zombie. But I do love celebrating spring the way the pagans did by surrounding myself with colored eggs and my bunny in hopes of a fertile year.
The girls were in Houston for Easter so we didn’t get to dye eggs until yesterday. They were happy with dunking them into every color we had to see how they came out, while Allison and I were a bit more creative. I made a watermelon like I do every year, then, inspired by one of Allison’s eggs, I made a sunset. It turned out beautifully.
Afterwards, while eating a few, I found a piece of eggshell that was shaped perfectly. I quickly snatched it up and put it in the red dye. It’s a gorgeous heart that I want to enamel and make into a necklace. Hooray for spring!
